TLDR: In the mist of me trying to figure out my next specialty I needed a new working windows laptop. I'd been eye-ing the framework and finally took the leap. I really like it (keyboard, battery life, and all) so far, but it would be nice if windows would update properly.

So recently I've had a few things going on. The logic behind this purchase is that my Razer laptop was being weird with the battery and I need a slightly decent laptop to run these container things on.
Let me back up yet again....I'm at a point of my career where I need to niche down and be loud about it. The one thing I don't think I did in my mobile career was establish that I'm a native developer and truly kill it on both Android and iOS. I'm stronger on Android than iOS vs being equal. It didn't hold back my career but I think it would have looked a little different had I done that. Now everyone is a webdev doing react/react native and that's fine but that isn't my space.
Anyway I'm back in the same boat with DevOps. DevOps is growing older and I need to "establish my dominance". I've been thinking of what that looks like and I believe if I leaned into being a heavy SRE and a container expert I'll be able to always be good. I've been learning a lot from my coworkers but I need to be able to hold my own if the Linux SMEs aren't there and I need to be able to fix things a bit faster when containers are involved.
All of this to say an opportunity presented itself, and I took the advantage to look back into framework. My specs are the following:
- _Intel® Core™ i5-1340P_ (13th gen intel)
- 13" screen
- 2 usb-c, 1 usb-a, and an hdmi dongle
- Windows 11
## Do you like it?
Yes. The keyboard is like a 2012 Mac (butterfly I believe). Everything I use has easily installed outside of a windows 23H update and dropbox. Nothing seems slow, AND I am not bothered by the battery life at this time. I'm taking this laptop on it's first travel adventure soon so we shall see how that goes. I'm usually a phone person unless I get bored at the airport. I'm more interested in seeing how it is taking notes on the go and if I can actually still get work done while traveling. If I decide I don't like this laptop after the trip it doesn't matter because I wanted one so I'll keep it. lol
OH this laptop can come w/o an OS so you can install linux on it or I think they even install linux for you. I needed windows though so here we are.
